The Utah County Jail has a site where you can see who is currently in Jail. In the past, I coded up a web scraper that I used to pull data from the site and make it easier to maneuver and pull out interesting data. Over the years, people have used the data/images from the inmate sites in inappropriate ways. It’s made it harder to get this data. I still have a scraper running and I pull the data I can from their site. They have an Active Inmate List that I get data from. I don’t feel like i’m doing anything unethical with the data and it’s interesting to see. I have plans to link an inmate with a news article.
